Karen Almond Appointed to Metro Plan Citizens Advisory Committee

Sanford, FL - March 10, 2008 - The Seminole County Board of Commissioners unanimously
approved the appointment of Karen Almond, to a four-year term to serve on the Metro Plan
Citizens Advisory Committee, effective immediately.

Karen Almond, President of Suburban Republic Women's Club Federated, (SRWCF), has been
involved with the club for the past 6 years, in various leadership positions.

Karen's dedication to Seminole County Public Schools includes Five years as PTA President at
South Seminole Middle School; Mentor-Take Stock Student, CES Campus Clean up
Day/Grant-Sam's Club; Five Year Capital Improvement Committee; SSMS, Guidance, Clerical
Assistance; District Governor's Jr. All Star Selection Committee; District School Improvement
Review Committee; Wrote/Received Grant - Sam's Club; Assist Literacy Coach; School Advisory
Council Chair; Lyman High School-School Advisory Council Treasurer; Best Practices/Vision Quest
Team 2007 (5 year plan); and have contributed over 6,000 Dividend hours to Seminole County
Public Schools.


Karen is a resident of Casselberry, married to Randy with three children.
